The 2020 Treasure Article is an adaptation of a text that Maria Montessori wrote in 1948, during her second stay in India. She ponders on our outlook and interpretation of history — a topic that could not be more fitting in a time that is bringing so much new wisdom and new insights as we feel drawn into an examination of the very foundations of our global human society and to the recognition and deeper understanding that all members of our community must have their voices heard if we are to serve all children. This act of service echoes the humility that Maria Montessori expected: that we listen with attention, that we observe with patience and that we act with respect. 

Maria Montessori invited us to be open to ‘new vistas in the interpretation of the complex phenomena of social life.
